The touring company of “The Lion King” will make its first-ever stop in New Orleans during Broadway Across America’s 2011-12 season at the Mahalia Jackson Theater, but theater lovers will have to wait until next spring to see it.

“The Lion King,” Julie Taymor’s smash-hit adaptation of the Disney animated film, is scheduled for 40 shows between March 14 and April 15, 2012.
