Lion King Broadway Remains Strong at Box Office
On Broadway, Lion King grossed $1,282,552 and had a 91.2% attendance rate for the week ending February 13, 2011 and was 3.5% more than the last week. Lion King remained in the millionaire’s club at Broadway Box Office along with Wicked and Spider-Man Turn Off The Dark. The 22 shows on the boards grossed $15,106,300, 16.23% more than that of the previous week.

Broadway’s Lion King Post Record Gross
The Lion King, which became Broadway’s seventh-longest running show this month, grossed $1,993,370 at the Minskoff Theatre, surpassing the musical’s previous gross of $1,870,145, which was set during the week ending November 28, 2010.
Two other Broadway musicals (Wicked and The Phantom of the Opera) have reported that they have broken their respective theater’s records for highest weekly grosses during the week ending January 2. The Broadway League has reported that grosses for the week for all shows totaled $34,997,571.
In addition, 14 other shows grossed over $1 million for the week.
Lion King remained in the millionaire’s club at Broadway Box Office
On Broadway, Lion King grossed $1,228,315 and had a 83.4% attendance rate for the week ending September 12, 2010. Lion King was one of only two shows last week that remained in the millionaire’s club.

On Broadway, Lion King grossed $1,546,227 and had a 96.6% attendance rate for the week ending August 29, 2010. Lion King was one of only four shows last week that remained in the millionaire’s club. The 21 shows on the boards grossed $16,139,305, slipping just under 7% from the previous week.
