The Lion King Musical will come to Houston, Texas<\/a> Starting Tuesday July 10, 2012.<\/strong> Casting has been announced for the Houston engagement. The Lion King performances at Sarofim Hall – Hobby Center<\/a> will continue through Sunday, August 12.<\/p>\n

The Lion King’s eight-week Houston premiere engagement in 2002 was a big hit with the Sold-Out performances. Similarly at the Hobby Center was a sold-out six-week engagement in 2006.<\/p>\n

Lion King Houston<\/a> Cast Update:<\/strong><\/p>\n

The sardonic and deviously cunning \u201cScar\u201d is played by Brent Harris. Dionne Randolph is \u201cMufasa,\u201d the great warrior and ruler of the Pridelands. Buyi Zama is the wise baboon shaman \u201cRafiki.\u201d Mark David Kaplan portrays the prim and proper hornbilled bird \u201cZazu.\u201d Adam Kozlowski is the carefree warthog \u201cPumbaa\u201d and Nick Cordileone is the wisecracking meerkat \u201cTimon.\u201d Mufasa\u2019s son, \u201cSimba,\u201d the lion prince born to be king, is played by Jelani Remy and Nokubonga Khuzwayo is the loyal lioness \u201cNala.\u201d<\/p>\n

The three evil hyenas are played by Keith Bennett (\u201cBanzai\u201d), Rashada Dawan (\u201cShenzi\u201d) and Houstonian Robbie Swift (\u201cEd\u201d). The role of \u201cYoung Simba\u201d is alternated between Zavion J. Hill and Adante Power and the role of \u201cYoung Nala\u201d is alternated between Sade Phillip-Demorcy and Kailah McFadden.<\/p>\n
