{"id":182,"date":"2010-10-04T01:17:00","date_gmt":"2010-10-04T01:17:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.lionkingbroadwayticketsonline.com\/blog\/?p=182"},"modified":"2010-10-04T01:18:03","modified_gmt":"2010-10-04T01:18:03","slug":"disneys-lion-king-national-tour-in-chicago-for-two-month-stay","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.lionkingbroadwayticketsonline.com\/blog\/disneys-lion-king-national-tour-in-chicago-for-two-month-stay\/","title":{"rendered":"Disney&#8217;s Lion King National Tour in Chicago for two month stay"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Lions not only rule the jungle, they also dominate Broadway and the theater landscape while making a killing at the box office.<\/p>\n<p>After a five year wait, Disney Theatrical Productions and Broadway In Chicago has finally lured Disney&#8217;s &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.lionkingbroadwayticketsonline.com\/lion-king-chicago-il-tickets.html\">The Lion King&#8221; back to Chicago<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The magical musical menagerie is playing <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lionkingbroadwayticketsonline.com\/lion-king-cadillac-palace-theatre.html\"><strong>Cadillac Palace Theatre<\/strong><\/a> now through Nov. 27.<\/p>\n<p>The show&#8217;s 39-week premiere engagement in 2003 and 13-week return engagement in 2005 both played sold-out runs on this same stage.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I&#8217;ll always remember the first time &#8216;Lion King&#8217; played here and we set up a 24-hour ticket sale to keep up with the demand,&#8221; said Broadway in Chicago Vice President Eileen LaCario.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This is a musical that&#8217;s indelible in my mind during these 10 years with Broadway in Chicago. Like everyone else, I was waiting with great anticipation for &#8216;Lion King&#8217; to get here and now it&#8217;s great to have it back.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Director Julie Taymor&#8217;s creative vision blends elements of African art and Broadway artisanship to depict anthropomorphic animal characters.<\/p>\n<p>For this run, the sardonic and deviously cunning &#8220;Scar&#8221; is played by J.
